Prof. Ly Tran has been an editor for a range of special issues and edited collections, including the latest SI of Higher Education Research Development on the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on HE, the latest SI of Transitions on the international student experience in New Zealand and an award-winning edited collection (see details below). Tran has a strong track record of publishing high quality research that has attracted a significant number of readers in Australia, Asia and internationally. She is the author of Deakin most-read article on the Conversation in the past year. Her article international graduates during COVID-19 has reached over 210,000 readers since its publication in April 2020. Another article that she co-authored on the Conversation, entitled “The coronavirus outbreak is the biggest crisis ever to hit international education”, has been re-published by more than 30 media outlets.

Her publications have also won a number of recognitions and awards:

• 2020, an article on Australian student mobility to Asia among the among the top most read articles in 2018-2019 for Higher Education Quarterly

• 2019, Honorary place in the 2019 Best Book Award category for in the CIES (Comparative International Education Society) Study Abroad & International Students SIG, for the edited collection, entitled International Student Connectedness and Identity: Transnational Perspectives;

• 2019, Highly Commended Award in the 2019 Emerald Literati Awards

• International Education Association of Australia’s Excellence Award for Innovation/Best Practice in International Education for a book on innovative pedagogies for teaching international students

• The book International Student Connectedness and Identity: Transnational Perspectives was among the top 10 most downloaded books in the Education category for Springer 2017-2019.

• Top 3 most cited and most read article in Journal of Studies in International Education over 6 months Jan-July 2020
